STV Industries – Forge Division

STV Industries as a part of expansion started the Forge Division in the year 2012 which manufacturers various forged components that caters Automobile and other industrial uses.

STV Industries – Forge Division has full fledged integrated forge shop basically consisting of a 1.5 Ton Drop hammer, a 1 Ton Drop hammer for the primary forging with other necessary equipment like furnaces, trimming presses etc.,

We forge a range of products from 500 grams to 12 kgs in weight.

Dies and Tooling:

An in house Tool Room setup equips us for fabricating all types of dies and tooling which comprises EDM, Lathes

STV Industries – Forge Devision

and milling machines.  POP molds are made to check dimensional accuracy before sampling.

Cutting:

The cutting of raw materials is done with the help of shearing and band saw machines.  Colour codes are marked on rods to identify the material grade.

Heating:

Cut pieces or billets are heated in batch type furnaces.  The pieces are carried to the forging hammers.

Forging and Trimming:

The process of forging is carried out on Drop hammers.  The metal is shaped to a part of Hammering the Hot cut pieces between the top and bottom dies fixed on the Hammer.  The forge component is then placed on the trimming presses to remove the additional material generated while forging.

Post Forging Operations:

Defending on the specific requirements the forging further undergo processes such as Heat treatment, Shot Blasting, Coining, Magnaflux Crack detection etc.,
